- 1/2 tsp chilli flakes
- 0.2oz fresh coriander
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees celsius
Step 2
Drain the black beans and rinse well. Pat dry and spread evenly onto a baking tray. Gently bake in the oven for around 5 minutes to dry them out a little
Step 3
Peel and finely dice the onion. Add to a saucepan with a dash of olive oil and gently cook until translucent. Add the crushed garlic cloves and gently sautée for a further minute
Step 4
Add the slice of bread to your food processor and pulse to make breadcrumbs. Pour into a bowl and put to one side
Step 5
Add the black beans, onion, tomato ketchup, olive oil, smoked paprika, paprika, chilli flakes, coriander, salt and pepper to your blend and pulse until the ingredients are broken down but not pureed
Step 6
Stir in the flour and breadcrumbs. If the mixture still seems a little wet simply add a little more flour
Step 7
Line a baking tray with baking paper
Step 8
Wet your hands slightly (this will make shaping the mixture easier) then mould the mixture into burger patties and place on the baking tray. You should make 4 patties

Bake in the oven for around 15 minutes
Step 10
Serve immediately or keep in an airtight container in the fridge and consume within 2 days
